WWTP Corroded Structure Refurbishment & Wall Cladding Project
Project type
Structural Refurbishment & Wall Cladding Replacement
Date
May 2026
Location
Malakoff Corporation Berhad, Malaysia
Participated in a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) structural refurbishment project involving the repair and refurbishment of corroded structural components and the replacement of damaged wall cladding. The project focused on restoring the structural condition, improving protection against the harsh wastewater environment, and maintaining the integrity and functionality of the facility.
The work involved site inspection, identification of corroded areas, removal of deteriorated materials, surface preparation, cleaning and treatment of corroded steel structures, repair and replacement of structural components, measurement and fabrication of replacement materials, and installation of new wall cladding.
Structural areas were inspected for corrosion, material deterioration, deformation, and damage before refurbishment activities were carried out. Corroded surfaces were prepared to remove rust and contaminants before protective treatment and repair works. Wall cladding installation included measurement, cutting, positioning, fastening, alignment, and sealing to provide suitable protection against moisture and the surrounding industrial environment.
The project required coordination with site personnel and maintenance teams while following PPE requirements, working-at-height procedures, lifting practices, hot-work controls where applicable, and site safety regulations.
